Bornean orangutan reclassified critically endangered
BOS Foundation: 14 July 2016
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has declared the Bornean orangutan as critically endangered meaning that it faces an “extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.”
Hunting along with habitat destruction, degradation and fragmentation are cited as the main causes behind population loss.
The BOS Foundation urges for more dedication and commitment to help save orangutans. We still live in HOPE – Help Orangutans, Protect Earth.
