We urgently need your help
The threat is not over! COVID-19 case numbers in Indonesia are still high, putting our orangutans and staff members at risk.
That’s why we must continue to protect their health as best as we possibly can by increasing our COVID-19 testing.
Only routine antigen tests ensure our staff stays healthy and doesn’t transmit the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the orangutans.
We also carry out antigen and PCR testing on our orangutans in case there is any doubt they could have contracted the virus from interactions with their caretakers.
Especially our little orphans, like newly rescued baby boy Galaksi, need a lot of tender loving care.
Our surrogate mothers can only be close to them because of frequent COVID testing. If we didn’t test our staff regularly, the risk of transmitting the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the orangutans in our centres would be too high.
With the extremely contagious Delta variant spreading across Indonesia, we need to test even more.
The increased testing efforts are a huge financial challenge for us. Our centres are still closed for visitors, and other revenue-generating programs are on hold.
But we know we can conquer COVID-19 with you on our side.
Our goal is to raise $35,000 by 31 October to cover the urgently needed COVID-19 testing supplies for our staff and orangutans until the end of this year.
For $40, you can provide the antigen tests for one staff member for one month. And for $95, you can cover the costs of a PCR test for one orangutan.
Will you consider helping us reach our goal so we can continue caring for and comforting little orphans like Galaksi?

Thank you so much for your support in these challenging times!
