A review and a big THANK YOU
2020 has been an unusually challenging year for everyone. All around the world, we lost loved ones, jobs and our way of life. However, despite the hurdles we’ve been up against, the support from you, our supporters, has been truly inspiring. You were there when we needed you most, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of our BOS Family.
Thanks to your help, we could continue to care for 431 orangutans in our two rehabilitation centres, in East and Central Kalimantan. We safely rescued 14 orphaned orangutans, released six of our red cousins to protected forests, and with great joy, we welcomed three more wild born babies.
We replanted over 100 hectares of forest and assisted 28 tribal communities through the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though the world turned upside down and times will continue to be challenging for a while, we know we can count on you – and that makes all the difference.
So, for now, let us take some time to catch our breath and celebrate our achievements with this short video together. We are full of hope and know that with your support, we can continue our efforts to protect orangutans and their habitat in 2021 and beyond.
